The Joint Regional Seminar (JRS) is an
annual Life and Health Insurance event co-organised by the Institute and
Faculty of Actuaries and Actuaries Institute Australia with the support of the
local actuarial societies in the region. It is designed to assist actuaries and
other professionals to acquire insights into the APAC markets and support their
continuous professional development (CPD) requirements.
The 2024 JRS will consist
of the Regional Webinar delivered online on 28 May 2024 and the in-person Hong Kong
Seminar the following day.

Dr. Lau has three decades of experience in frontline primary health care. He has worked as medical director in a well-equipped health check centre and a major life insurance company, while continuing his clinical practise during these periods. His special interests are preventive medicine, public health education, and periodic health examination. He holds a master’s degree in family medicine and has been appointed honorary clinical assistant professor at the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care, Chinese University of Hong Kong since 2007. |

Mr. Wilson Tang is responsible for driving the business roadmap as well as the growth strategy for the company. Prior to joining BOC Life, Wilson was the Head of Insurance at Hang Seng Bank, and CEO and Director of Hang Seng Insurance. He is a current non-official Member of the Industry Advisory Committee on Long Term Business to Insurance Authority, Employers’ Federation of Hong Kong Chairman of Insurance Group and Member of the Hong Kong Management Association Insurance Management Committee. Jackie Chu is a Partner in the Life Insurance practice of Deloitte Actuarial. She joined the firm in 2023 and has 19 years of experience in consulting, bank and insurance companies. Jackie has extensive insurance experience spanning across the entire insurance life cycle, including distribution, products, actuarial and finance. She assisted investors to obtain life insurance license in Hong Kong and built business and operation from scratch. She had experience manufacturing, managing and hedging exotic products like Indexed Universal Life or Variable Annuity. |
