Overview

The GI Forum is a small group social gathering for GI actuaries to meet up, network, and discuss issues related to their profession.

The new HKRBC regime will result in the most significant changes that Hong Kong insurers have seen for a generation.  The three-pillar regulatory regime includes specific requirements on market value of assets, prescribed capital amount, enterprise risk management, market disclosure and regulatory reports, attracting the attention of all parties in the industry.  Recently Hong Kong Insurance Authority (HKIA) has also issued and updated the corresponding subsidiary legislation and regulatory requirements, with a view to implementing the HKRBC regime by mid-2024.  Our guest, Dr. Jeff Yao, will share with us his experience with HKRBC for general insurers and focus on:

  • Technical and practical considerations in implementation
  • Efficient and effective reporting processes
  • Unleash the full power of HKRBC
