Many actuaries have been
put into a box. We're expected to be the number cruncher, develop/price
products, and measure profitability. Rarely are we in charge of sales - but there is no reason we can't be. This session is focused more towards
the actuary focusing on business development. We'll start by discussing
the merits of being on the business development side of the business, followed
by discussing some easy to use social media and other electronic tools
available to anyone. We'll also show how to dig into the data available
in these tools that will be valuable to mine for the business development actuary.
