ASHK Examination is viewed by the ASHK Council as a necessary step in ensuring
actuaries practicing in Hong Kong have the relevant local knowledge.
We
are supported by regulators and the government that recognise the
actuarial profession’s importance to Hong Kong’s future development.
The Insurance Authority (IA) expects that a candidate passing the local
examination offered by the ASHK would be one of the acceptable means of
satisfying the local knowledge requirement for the approval of those actuaries performing statutory roles by IA.
This examination is a 1.5-hour open-book paper-based examination
consisting of 60 multiple-choice questions.
It comprises two papers - (i) Core paper; (ii) one of the three Elective
papers, i.e., Life Insurance, Pension and General Insurance. Each paper takes 45 minutes for 30 questions.
