Simon Lam

Mr Lam joined the IA in June 2017, armed with an extensive management, technical and commercial experience and expertise in general, long term and reinsurance businesses accumulated over 30 years in the insurance industry. Having been the Chief Executive Officer and Regional Chief Operating Officer of multinational insurers and a reinsurer located in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Vietnam and Thailand, he brings strong leadership and stewardship on key market topics and for the growth and development of the general insurance market in Hong Kong.

Hussain Ahmad
Senior Vice President, Guy Carpenter & Co.

Hussain joined Guy Carpenter in 2019, and heads the Structured Solutions offering for the broker in Asia Pacific, along with co-heading the newly established Capital Advisory Group in the region. He has worked in four countries over the course of his career, and has held responsibility for structuring and underwriting reinsurance, managing cash flow for regional reinsurance operations, as well as leading the SE Asian business at a global consultancy advising on M&A, capital management and reserving.

Dr. Weihao Choo
Head of Consulting, Munich Re (Group)

Dr Weihao Choo leads the consulting team at Munich Re, which develops and provides solutions to reinsurance clients across Asia. The consulting team comprises of actuaries and data scientists, and works closely with underwriters, natural catastrophe experts, IT and other specialists.

Weihao started his career in a primary insurer in Singapore before joining a consultancy in Sydney. When Weihao joined Munich Re back in Singapore in 2017, he was the head of enterprise risk management for the APAC MEA region. Weihao subsequently took on the head of consulting role in 2019.

Ronald T. Kozlowski
CAS Asia Ambassador, CAS

Ron is a consulting actuary with over 30 years of experience, working primarily in pricing, reserving and M&A due diligence. Ron spent 23 years at Towers Watson before starting his own consulting firm RTK Actuarial Services. Ron serves as the CAS Asia Ambassador, a member of the CAS International Leadership Group and is a frequent speaker at the CAS’s Course on Professionalism. Ron has previously served on the CAS’s Board of Directors, the Leadership Development Committee, Actuarial Communications Skills Task Force and the Strategic Planning Committee.

Jenny Lai
Chief Actuary, Bank of China Group Insurance Company Ltd.

Jenny Lai has acted as the Chief Actuary of Bank of China Group Insurance Company Ltd. since 2017. She currently oversees underwriting, claim, medical insurance, actuarial, risk management, and legal functions. She has over twenty years of experience in various actuarial and management roles for general insurance business.

Before joining BOCGI, Ms. Lai worked as the Asia regional chief actuary of Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance from 2015 to 2017.
Before that, Ms. Lai was the sales and practice leader of Towers Watson leading its general insurance consulting business in greater China. Ms Lai also worked for Ernst & Young and The Hartford Financial Group in United States.

Ms Lai graduated from University of Waterloo with a Masters Degree in Actuarial Science. Ms Lai is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (“FCAS”), and a Fellow of Actuarial Society of Hong Kong, and China

Antoine Sasseville
Director, Intact Financial (HK)

Antoine Sasseville is Director of Data Science at Intact Financial Hong Kong. He holds an Actuarial Science degree from Laval University, he is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. He started his career at Intact Financial Corporation 10 years ago as an actuary and worked in different pricing teams as well as the corporate actuarial team. He has contributed over the years to implement a wide variety of AI products including large scale predictive models for insurance pricing, underwriting automation as well as claims management. He relocated to Hong Kong in January 2020 to help open the first international expansion of the Intact Lab and lead the Data Science teams here in the Hong Kong Science Park.

Edmond So
Manager, Deloitte Advisory (Hong Kong) Limited

Edmond is a qualified actuary and a Manager in Deloitte’s Actuarial and Insurance Solution practice based in the Hong Kong office. He has worked in the insurance industry for more than 10 years in Asia and Australia. He specializes in insurance pricing, business forecasting and portfolio monitoring.
Edmond is currently a Manager in Deloitte in charge of pricing and reserving review projects for General Insurance companies, government and non-government organizations.
Before joining Deloitte in 2021, Edmond has worked for one of the largest multinational general insurance company in Hong Kong and 2 large General Insurance companies in Australia, leading a number of pricing review projects for the motor and home business to improve pricing sophistication and facilitate the end-to-end implementation.

Simon Tam
Director, Coherent

Simon is a Director at Coherent based in Hong Kong. At Coherent he is a Product Manager for one of the company’s leading insurance solutions, Product Factory, and serves as a subject matter expert across actuarial and general insurance. Simon has had previous roles at EY in the UK in pricing and analytics as well as commercial and personal lines roles in Canada. Simon’s experience has had an exclusive focus on pricing with a broader view around analytics, data science, insurance telematics, product management and IT.

Dennis Tay
Munich Re (Singapore)

Dennis Tay is an Insurance Solutions Manager in the consulting team at Munich Re. He works closely with a broad base of clients in the region to develop and provide innovative solutions across the insurance value chain. Dennis began his career in London at a primary insurer where he was involved in pricing and portfolio management across personal and commercial lines. He joined Munich Re in his current role on his return to Singapore in 2020. He is a qualified actuary with the IFoA and has an MBA from the University of Oxford.

Kedi Wang
Manager, Intact Financial (HK)

Kedi Wang is a Manager of Data Science at Intact Financial HK. She holds an Actuarial Science degree from University of Waterloo and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and an Associate of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. Kedi has joined Intact more than 8 years ago. She has a very diverse background having worked both in developing large scale machine learning projects (e.g. rating revolution project, investment project) as well as playing a key role in Intact’s Mergers & Acquisition team after spending 4 years in traditional actuarial teams. She relocated to HK in January 2020 to help open the first international expansion of the Intact Lab (data science division) and has loved her experience so far!

Dr. Ji Yao
Director, EY

Dr. Ji Yao is a director of EY’s Actuarial and Insurance Advisory Services with more than 16 years’ work experience in the UK and China and five years’ actuarial teaching and research experience in world top universities. His experience includes reserving, pricing, capital modelling, M&A due diligence and enterprise risk management, with a special interest of application of advanced analytics and technology in insurance and innovative insurance product.

Jonathon Ko
Director, KPMG

Jonathon is a Director at KPMG and oversees the general insurance sector. He is a practicing actuary, who advises clients on regulatory and accounting change, strategy, M&A and reserving.

Delvin Cai
Director, Actuarial Services, PwC China

Delvin is a Director in PwC’s Actuarial Services practice with 16 years of experience in actuarial and management consulting in the United States and China. He is a seasoned property & casualty actuary.

He has provided strategic, operational and organizational change advice to a large number of clients, and supported international and domestic enterprises through their due diligence and post-deal integration process.
Prior to joining PwC, Delvin spent 10 years at Willis Towers Watson and led the Shanghai risk consulting team to deliver a large number of insurance clients projects in the actuarial, underwriting, claims and digitalization fields.

Delvin graduated from Macalester College, US, with a Bachelor of Arts double degree in Economics and Mathematics. He became a Fellow of Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) in 2009.

Andy Souter
Co-head of P&C Reinsurance, and Director, Global Markets, Peak Re

Andy currently serves as Co-head of P&C Reinsurance, and Director, Global Markets for Peak Re.

He oversees the clients’ portfolio in Global Markets and is responsible for developing the Company’s Property & Casualty reinsurance business. Andy has close to two decades of experience in the finance industry. He has worked closely with renowned global insurers as well as Japanese and APAC (re)insurers, with extensive experience across the full capital spectrum and a strong track record in utilising both traditional and ILS capacity.

Prior to joining Peak Re in 2020, Andy was Head of Capital and a member of the executive management team for Pioneer Underwriters/Syndicate 1980. Prior to that role, he spent a decade with Willis Re, where he was concurrently Head of London APAC team and Head of ILS Practice Group for the International Division. Prior to Willis Re, Andy worked in fixed-income at MUFG.
Andy holds a degree in East Asian Studies from the University of Durham.

Chelsea Jiang

Head of Asia General Insurance Hub, AXA Group

Chelsea Jiang is the Chief Underwriting Officer for AXA General Insurance Hong Kong & Head of Asia General Insurance Hub for AXA Group. Chelsea has held previous position in underwriting, distribution and claims working with most APAC countries, notably Australia, China, Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines. Her focus is to drive business strategy and delivery using data, analytics and innovation. Chelsea holds a degree in Law and Commerce from the University of Melbourne and Masters of Business Administration from University of Hong Kong.

Xinmei Zheng
Head of P&C Client Markets for Hong Kong & Taiwan, Swiss Re

Xinmei Zheng is the Head of P&C Client Markets for Hong Kong & Taiwan at Swiss Re. Based in Hong Kong, Xinmei was appointed to lead Swiss Re's P&C business in the Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan markets in 2019. Xinmei joined Swiss Re in 2008 as a Senior Structurer based in Singapore, where she was involved in tailoring non-life customised prospective and retrospective solutions for re/insurance clients across Asia. During the same period, she also spent a year in London where she was a key member of the UK & Lloyd's market cross-functional teams. In 2014, Xinmei took on the role of Senior Market Underwriter for P&C Reinsurance in Singapore, responsible for the Southeast Asian markets including Philippines, Thailand and Singapore, before relocating to Hong Kong in 2019.

Eric Ho
Manager, Actuarial and Insurance Advisory Services, EY

Mr. Eric Ho is a manger of EY’s Actuarial and Insurance Advisory Services with 7 years’ work experience in Hong Kong and Taiwan. He is with hand-on experience on risk-based capital (RBC), IFRS 17, reinsurance treaty pricing, reserving and actuarial audit, internal audit on actuarial process, capital modelling for catastrophe risk, due diligence, and data analytic.
